CID100 - Caller ID Telephone Quick Reference Guide
This guide tells you how to quickly install and operate your new Caller ID Telephone. For more detailed instructions, please refer to your Owner's Manual.
Important Notice
1. Before using the CID100, install 4 AAA batteries into the base.
2. DO NOT CONNECT the line cord into the wall outlet until after the Caller ID setup is
completed.
Installation
Coil Cord Connection
Insert coil cord into modular jack located on the side or bottom of the base. Connect the other end into the modular jack located on the handset.
Line Cord Connection
With a modular telephone system, connect the straight telephone line cord to the modular jack located on the bottom of the base. Insert the other end of the cord into a modular wall jack. Make sure all plugs snap firmly in place. If you have a four prong style jack, plug the line cord into a modular adapter and then into the jack. DO NOT CONNECT the line cord into the wall outlet until after the Caller ID setup is completed (See Setting up your CID100 to complete the Caller ID setup).
Wall Mount
If your Conairphone has a wall mount option, connect the straight telephone line cord to the modular jack located on the bottom of the base. Note: If a short line cord is provided use it, otherwise use the long line cord. Leaving approximately 5 inches of the cord free, insert the other modular plug into the wall jack, making sure it snaps in place. Position the wall mount slots on the bottom of the base over the two studs of the wall plate. Pull down and lock in place.
Battery Installation
Open the battery door using a paper clip or a ball point pen. Insert four (4) AAA alkaline batteries. Replace the door.

Operation
Receiving a Call
When your phone rings, pick up the handset and use like any basic telephone. Hang up the handset to release the telephone line when conversation is completed.
Dialing a Call
NOTE: Before dialing, make sure the Tone/Pulse switch is correctly positioned for your type of service.
Pick up phone, listen for a dial tone, then press the keys for the number you want. Your Conairphone (in pulse setting) uses electronic pulses to stimulate dialing. You might hear pulsing for a second or two after the last button has been pressed.
Key Features
Last Number Redial
Your Conairphone remembers the last number dialed. If the number you dial is busy or not being answered, hang up. To automatically redial the last number, press the REDIAL button. NOTE: You can redial the same number as many times as needed. However, once you dial another number, the previous number is erased.
Lighted Dial
Your Conairphone features a lighted keypad for dialing in a darkened room.
Ringer On/Off or Off/Low/High
Your Conairphone features a harmonic tone ringer. When you don't want to be disturbed, slide the switch to the "Off" position. You can still make outgoing calls without being disturbed by incoming calls. Some phones have a ringer that can be adjusted to a soft (low) or a loud (high) sound level.
Receiver Volume Control
This feature allows you to adjust your handset volume from normal to high, for a more comfortable listening level.
Memory
Your Conairphone is equipped with memory for programming your most frequently dialed telephone numbers. You can store up to 10 memory locations (16 digits in each).
To Program Memory Numbers
1. Press and release the STORE key. The message "PROGRAM MODE" will appear on
the LCD.
2. Press the keys for the telephone number you wish to store.
3. Press and release the MEMORY KEY.

location.

Trouble Shooting Guide
Problem: No dial tone
Check all modular plugs to be sure they are firmly in place.
Are the cords damaged in any way?
Try another phone jack. If your Conairphone works on another jack, there may be a
problem with your wiring.
Problem: I hear my phone dialing, but I can not get past the dial tone.
Check the Tone/Pulse switch. If positioned in Tone (T) mode, switch to Pulse (P). You may have pulse dialing service.
Problem: Phone does not ring.
Is the ringer switch set to the "Off" position?
How many extensions are connected to your line? If more than five telephones are installed
on the same line, you may need to contact your local telephone company to determine the
maximum number of extensions for your calling area.
Problem: The sound volume is too low.
Is another extension off hook? If so, hang up the extension.
